Volunteer and Inclusion Coordinator

The volunteer and inclusion coordinator provides direction and coordination of
all volunteer functions within Historic New England to expand volunteer
engagement and works with staff to enhance diversity and inclusion throughout
the organization. This position serves as Historic New England’s liaison in
recruiting and placement of applicants for volunteer work. This position also develops
programs to enhance staff recruiting efforts to reach a diverse candidate pool
and assists in program development to reach a diverse and inclusive audience.

support and guidance for volunteers. Develop and manage volunteer procedures,
guidelines, recognition, and best practices for volunteer service.
volunteer and inclusion coordinator advances the organization’s priority of diversity and inclusion.You
will research best practices and identify
programs and methodologies to increase staff diversity and inclusion. Work
closely with hiring managers throughout the organization to advance diversity in
staff recruiting and hiring practices. Enhance the institution’s current
partnerships and develop new connections with underrepresented communities
throughout New England. Participate in program planning to ensure
diversity and inclusion in programing and content. Promote a workplace culture
that values, respects, and supports diversity and inclusion.
Regional Office, MA
a bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources, cultural studies, intercultural
studies, or a social science. One to two years job-related experience and the
ability to work independently. Prior experience supervising volunteers and
competent research and problem solving skills. Ability to operate effectively
both individually and in a team environment. Excellent time management and organizational
skills. Strong written and verbal communication
skills. Fully competent computer skills including skilled use of Microsoft
Office suite software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email, is
required. A valid driver’s license required. Ability to work periodic weekend
and evening hours as required.
