Director of Programming & Partnerships


The Director of Programming & Partnerships is integral to the vibrant community at Green Street Studios (GSS). This part-time role reports directly to the Managing Director. Responsibilities include: 

Curation and maintenance of the weekly public class and workshop schedule at GSS, including recruiting and hiring high caliber instructors to join the faculty. Providing ongoing support, including training, for faculty and guest teachers. The DPP is responsible for marketing programming in-studio and online.

Curation and management of the GSS programming calendar, including creation of new programming including performance series’, residencies, talent development programs, festivals and more. Flawless management of events and performances from inception to production. Securing funding for programming through grants, in-kind and financial donations.

Working with the Managing Director to identify and secure partnerships that align with GSS’ programming and overall business objectives. Serve as a representative of GSS at community events, making connections and pursuing opportunities for collaboration.

GSS is run by a small team of employees. As such, all employees contribute meaningfully to the creation and maintenance of a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for dancers and community members.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of and participation in the dance and arts community of Boston/Cambridge and beyond
  • 3+ years of studio management and/or production experience 
  • Grant writing and development experience
  • Marketing capabilities (social media, e-newsletters, basic website updates). Graphic design experience a plus. 
  • Passion for creating opportunities for dancers and artists of all genres, as well as create programming that will provide value to the greater community
  • A resourceful, ‘make-it-happen’ attitude
  • Detail oriented 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field

Welcome to Green Street Studios! We are New England’s premier organization for dance instruction, rehearsal spaces, and live performance. Come to GSS and feel the connection to the human experience through the powerful mediums of dance, movement & theater.

Committed to serving the community for over 25 years, GSS offers affordable space in three large studios; two with wall-to-wall Marley on sprung floors and one with a specially made percussive floor perfect for Tap, Flamenco, Irish Step and more. Our largest space converts into a black-box theater that can hold up to 130 audience members.

GSS is home to several of the greater Boston area’s most recognized choreographers and dance & theater companies.
