Artful Adventures Museum Educators (Temporary)

Description:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Community Arts, the Artful Adventures Museum Educator teaches in various Artful Adventures programs for children in preschool through high school. Teaches Artful Adventures programs in the Museum’s galleries and studio spaces and off-site at locations such as community centers, after school programs, and libraries. Plans customized visits, tours, and art activities with teachers, group leaders, and staff members. Works with Community Programs staff to facilitate and teach programs, interact with visitors, and create an enriching museum learning experience. Programs can include Artful Adventures Tours, Birthday Parties, Community Partnership Visits, Home School Programs, Off-site Programs, Events, and Festivals, What Artists Do Programs, and other various events and programs as needed.


Must be available to work at least 2 days per week including 1 week day (M-F). Must attend staff meetings and trainings.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in art education, education, studio art, or related field; Experience in teaching and working with groups of children; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Flexibility, patience, and self-motivation; Studio art experience preferred; 1-3 years museum experience or similar educational environment preferred; Ability to speak Spanish a plus
