WGBH News seeks an imaginative and tech-savvy Editor to be part of a broadcast team for Greater Boston, Beat the Press, Basic Black, and Open Studio. The Editor will work with producers to visualize and create graphics and cut video on tight daily deadlines. In addition, the Editor will be responsible for editing scripted packages, b-roll, studio interviews, and packaging and delivering completed shows for broadcast and the web. The position requires a strong eye for television broadcast design and pacing. Hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-6:30pm or as needed. The Editor will report to the Production Manager.
Essential Functions:
50% Creating animated and still graphics
20% Editing b-roll, voice-overs, and sound bites
20% Editing scripted packages and interviews
5% Media Management and organization
5% Conceptualizing new ideas, workflows, and changes to further advance our shows
• Experience creating animated and still graphics for broadcast on deadline
• Ability to multitask and adapt to change
• Collaborating with a team as well as working independently when required
• Excellent organization of media and data
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects
• Proficiency with Non-linear editing software
• Knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Interplay and iNews is preferred
