Public Relations Intern- unpaid
New England Historic Genealogical Society is seeking an
entry-level, part-time intern who can assist with public relations and
marketing tasks. This position is unpaid, but the right candidate will gain
valuable professional experience at one of Boston’s oldest and most respected
cultural institutions. This role is ideal for a college or graduate student who
would like to pursue marketing or public relations in the museum or cultural
Hours and days are flexible, and we can work around other
employment or class schedules. Also, we are happy to complete any required
paperwork if college course credit for the internship is an option.
This internship provides education and hands-on learning
experiences in the following areas:
- Researching media
- Updating media clippings
for company and clientele
- Media tracking
- Drafting and editing
- Pitching media for
- Daily office duties as
- Must have some
familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- At least 10-15 hours
The preferred candidate
must be able to work independently and is a self-starter, possess
attention-to-detail, understand deadlines and be able to handle multiple
projects simultaneously. Must be able to work both independently and as part of
a team environment. This internship is UNPAID
