Stitcher

Description:

The Stitcher is a Full-Time Seasonal, non-exempt position that will sew costumes as needed for new build productions as well as refurbished productions. The Stitcher may also assist in fittings, as needed. He or she will need to be able to stitch at a fast and accurate rate and demonstrate strong project and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Stitch costumes as required for new builds, refurbishment, and repair of ballet costumes

  • Stitch at a fast, accurate rate

  • Assist as needed in fittings

  • Complete all projects as specified and on time

  • Other job-related assignments, as needed


Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience sewing at a professional theatre level

  • Strong knowledge of costume construction methods

  • Strong hand sewing skills

  • Competent cutting ability

  • Experience sewing knits as well as wovens

  • Knowledge of industrial sewing machines used in costume construction and ability to perform weekly maintenance on that equipment

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail
