Marketing Assistant (Temporary)
The Temporary Marketing Assistant at the Harvard Art Museums
is a full-time, 90-day position, eligible for renewal that will support a
variety of marketing and advertising needs for the Communications Division,
including those for special exhibitions and major campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Communications,
the Temporary Marketing Assistant is responsible for the traffic management of
advertising and organizes the scheduling and production of print and digital
- Assist with the execution of advertising
campaigns for the museums brand and special exhibitions, following ad buy
decisions made by the Director of Communications and in collaboration with the
- Serve as liaison with advertising vendors; field
inquiries, and gather and relay information to the Director of Communications
on packages and sponsorships with advertising vendors.
- Manage advertising specs and deadlines of ad
buys in collaboration with PR/Marketing and the museums’ graphic designers.
- Support PR/Marketing team email marketing
efforts which include compiling, executing, and sending email newsletters.
- Support PR/Marketing team with the scheduling, development,
and distribution of events and exhibition-related print materials, such as
postcards and posters, and digital materials.
- Assist with management of various mailing lists.
- Assist in updating museum and event listings on
external websites and newsletters.
- Assist PR/Marketing team with other daily tasks
Bachelor’s degree or significant
coursework towards a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English,
the arts, or other related field. Familiarity with email marketing
platforms, including Mailchimp, in particular. Strong project management skills
and outstanding organizational and
interpersonal skills will be essential to success in this position. Ability to multi-task and maintain a
positive, helpful attitude. Comfortable
working both independently and in a collaborative team setting. Willingness
to work collaboratively with Communications team, key museums clients on review
of content, incorporating feedback. Attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills. Highly proficient in MS Office.
