Annual Giving Officer

Description:

The Annual Giving Officer (AGO) is a key member of the Annual Fund team, responsible for implementing a comprehensive annual giving campaign to support The NEC Fund. The position will manage and execute all aspects of annual giving programs including direct mail, online appeals, and social media. The position will report to the Director of Annual Giving. The AGO must be able to represent NEC in a professional and enthusiastic manner. The position requires a personable, energetic individual who is eager to contribute through excellent interpersonal and project management skills and collaborative interaction with other members of the NEC community.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Work as a member of the Institutional Advancement team to raise the Board-approved annual giving goal, to develop cultivation and stewardship opportunities for annual giving donors; and to encourage existing annual giving donors to increase their support for NEC.


· Participate in the creation, development, and implementation of all annual giving outreach.


· Craft direct mail and email appeals for the various donor constituencies.


· Maintain the annual giving calendar, including the schedule of mail, email, phone appeals, and events.


· Monitor program activities and results. Generate reports, providing analysis of program trends, and short and long range results.


· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information as it pertains to donors across all constituencies and their activities within the Conservatory.


· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· College degree and two to four years of progressive experience in Institutional Advancement, or a comparable environment.


· Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude who is interested in developing innovative fundraising opportunities for annual giving donors.


· Excellent writing, communication and customer relations skills required; ability to solicit gifts is essential.


· Strong project management skills.


· Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and to travel as needed.


· Commitment to New England Conservatory’s mission and values.


· A collegial personality and an interest in getting to know donors and prospects personally in an effort to increase their support for NEC.


· Strong computer skills and comfort level with email marketing tools, social media, Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge.
