President's House
Williams is pleased to announce the opening for a House Manager overseeing the general operations of the President's House. This is a part-time (20hrs/wk), year-round, regular appointment with potential for expansion and occasional weeks of additional hours. Reporting to the Assistant to the President, the Manager will oversee all events and operations at the President's House.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the President's Office, Dining Services and the Facilities staff to plan, organize, and host events at the President's House and serve as “front-of-the-house” manager for all events.
  • Work closely with the Facilities Department to manage President's house maintenance, including light housekeeping alongside the custodial team.
  • Provide limited personal administrative support for the President's family
  • Serve in an ambassadorial role with trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members, and special guests.
  • The successful manager will work evenings, including weekend hours, and have relative flexibility with a schedule in order to be responsive to the President's social obligations.
  • Candidates for this position should be able to think creatively, exercise independent judgment, and function effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment, under pressure and time constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Event planning and management experience required.
  • Ability to handle extensive public contact with courtesy, tact, discretion and judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Capacity to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues and various constituencies, individually or as a member of a team
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality and possess absolute discretion
  • Ability to work in an environment where cats reside
  • Valid driver's license
