Visitor Services Assistants
Want to work with the public in a busy museum that combines art, science and technology?
The MIT Museum is seeking part-time visitor services assistants for the academic year, with potential to continue in the summer of 2019. Duties include: greeting visitors, selling admission tickets and museum store purchases, greeting groups, monitoring visitors in the galleries, answering visitor questions, and other duties as assigned. Potential for evening hours assisting in setting-up for programs and other museum functions as well.
A high school diploma or equivalent education is required, Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in college preferred. Museum Studies/Arts Administration students encouraged to apply. Applicants should enjoy working with the public, have an interest in science and technology and art, and possess basic computer skills. Retail experience desirable but not mandatory. Fluency in Mandarin and/or other languages a plus. Must be able to commit to working a minimum of two days per week, including one weekend day, greater availability desirable.
