Teaching Artist Wanted
Green Art Workshop is a hands-on, eco-conscious program
that brings teaching artists into classrooms and community centers. In our workshops, participants create imaginative personal and collaborative projects as they re-envision everyday
discarded materials. We encourage environmental awareness
critical thinking throughout the creative process.
We are looking for Part-Time Teaching Artists to teach programs in the Greater Boston Area (and throughout Massachusetts.) Workshops take place at schools and community centers.
• Provide an opportunity to directly engage with materials, build skills, and activate individual's inherent creativity.
• Cultivate curiosity about the natural world and develop a deeper understanding of how we impact the larger ecosystem.
• Inspire environmental stewardship by empowering individuals to make sustainable choices as artists and citizens.
Requirements of the position:
-Have prior teaching experience in a classroom, community, or camp setting working with a variety of ages.
-Help develop and enthusiastically teach curriculum that fits within the
program’s mission and goals.
-Prepare materials and create examples projects (as needed.)
-Ability to utilize positive communication skills to encourage relationship development, respect for diversity,
involvement, and empowerment of each participant.
-Maintain high standards of safety
in all activities for all workshop participants.
-Setup and cleanup
workshop and return assigned workshop space to its original condition at
the end of each workshop.
and purchase supplies for workshops while keeping costs within the supply
-Document classes and provide images and written feedback to director.
-Mentor and supervise teaching assistant intern(s) (as applicable).
