Position Overview:
The Museum Store Associate is responsible for promoting sales, waiting on patrons and completing sales transaction. The Museum Store Associate actively works to ensure the highest level of museum visitor experience in the Museum Store by treating all customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
Essential Job Functions:
Courteously greet and assist customers. Actively engage guests in conversation and assist in understanding description and selection of merchandise.
Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.
Complete sales transactions utilizing the point of sales system. Accurately determine and charge final bill by calculating discounts, tax and totals on merchandise selected by customer. Accept payments and make change, process credit card transactions, refunds and exchanges in, etc. Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
Actively maintain the store appearance, including keeping merchandise neatly organized and attractively displayed, dusting and cleaning shelves, folding t-shirts and maintaining displays to provide the highest of visual presentation
Maintain stockroom merchandise organization and cleanliness
Actively execute the daily operational and day to day goals and priorities assigned by Store Manager
Answer gift shop phone and assist callers as needed.

Preparation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Point of Sales knowledge
High school diploma
Retail or related sales experience preferred
