PR, Marketing, Events - Fine Art and Design - Unique Internship
Dates: September - Early December - A unique internship where you will develop your special events, public
relations and marketing skills and gain experience with an agency that specializes in
the arts. You will work directly on the 22nd Annual Boston International Fine Art Show (www.FineArtBoston.com) a weekend show and sale of fine art featuring 40 galleries October 18-21, 2018, and on longer range development for the 6th Annual Boston Design Week which takes place March 27-April 7, 2019 (www.BostonDesignWeek.com) Work includes: Assisting with program development, organizing exhibitor information; recruiting ads, gathering event information and photos and copywriting for a catalog; distributing and following
up materials to participants, Honorary Committee, sponsors, media sponsors and
others; Facebook and Twitter campaigns; internet research; updating
mailing lists; creating and placing press releases and calendar listings;
special promotions; and general office and public relations support.
PLEASE NOTE: Our office is located in West Roxbury -- just past
Jamaica Plain and Roslindale, and near Brookline. (10-15 minutes drive from Dedham Legacy Place or Chestnut Hill Mall.) A car is helpful, but please check public transportation from your location.
We need someone who can devote 2-3 full days a week. We will fill the position as soon as we find the right individual, so apply
early! We can be flexible with your school or work schedule.
will be given to an individual who is seeking a career in marketing, PR or special events as
evidenced by your experience or educational goals (having completed or worked
on a degree in a related field: public relations, communications, arts
administration, special events, marketing, etc.) We are NOT looking for someone who primarily wants to be a
musician, dancer, actor, artist, etc.
You are a creative, enthusiastic person with strong communication skills, good
writing and organizational skills and must have MAC computer experience. Experience with WIX websites, Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, Facebook for Business other social media platforms, and other communications and basic design programs is a BIG plus. You
must be able to do Internet research, have good
problem solving skills, a very good phone voice and manner and the ability to
work independently. Strong attention to detail is required.
