Internship - Marketing and Operations with a small performing arts org
Boston Musica Viva is seeking a spring semester intern to work
alongside the Executive Director on marketing and operations projects for the second half of our 50th Anniversary Season in Spring 2019. Help shape targeted
marketing for the group’s varied and dynamic programming by researching and
brainstorming new and different ways to reach potential audiences. Learn the
fundamentals of building concert marketing and public relations campaigns,
including project budgeting. Create materials and guides that will lend
themselves to future positions anywhere in the arts, or anywhere else
creativity and organization are appreciated.
We are a small but exuberant team that manages a wide
variety of tasks. Successful candidates for this internship will take direction
well, prioritize tasks effectively and work well independently. Ideally, our intern will work in the office one or two days a week around check-in
meetings, and will work additional hours remotely with regular communication by
email and phone.
Ideal candidates will be able to get to our offices in Brighton Center (320 Washington Street, Brighton MA 02135.) Multiple bus lines stop nearby, but the closest T stop is .6 mi away. Parking is available. Wednesday or Thursday daytime availability is a must.
If you are looking for an opportunity to experience the full
scope arts administration, and to establish a base of real world experience in preparation
for future endeavors, we would love to hear from you.
As America’s oldest professional chamber ensemble specializing in new music, Boston Musica Viva is a trailblazer in the arts. Our mission is to find, foster and share contemporary at an expert level, often performing pieces for the very first time. We achieve this through commissioning composers across a broad spectrum of styles, ages and experiences, and hiring some of New England’s (and America’s) best professional musicians to perform them. We’ve been at it since 1969, and every year brings new challenges, and new rewards.
Graduates or students currently pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees are welcome to apply, however, we are extremely flexible, especially for the right candidate.
How To Apply:
Please submit via email a résumé and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in this position, and how you believe interning with Boston Musica Viva will benefit both you and the ensemble. Email your application to Robert Pape at email@example.com.
Please do not submit references or letters of recommendation at this time.
