Internship Available January 15 - April 15
A unique position where you will use your special events, public relations and marketing skills and gain experience with an agency that specializes in the arts and special events. You will work directly on the 6th Annual Boston Design Week (www.BostonDesignWeek.com
) March 27-April 7, 2019, produced by our agency, as well as on our client marketing and PR programs. Work includes: Recruiting participants; distributing and following up materials to participants, sponsors, media and others; support for the 12-day design festival, the 112-page program book and the website; Facebook, Instagram and Twitter posts; internet research; updating mailing lists; creating and placing press releases and calendar listings; special promotions; and general office and public relations support for the shows and for Agency clients. PLEASE NOTE: Our office is located in West Roxbury -- just past Jamaica Plain and Roslindale, and near Brookline/Chestnut Hill. If you rely on public transportation, please check a Google map to find the easiest commute. A car is not required, but might be helpful.
We need someone who can devote 2-3 full days a week.
Preference will be given to an individual who is seeking a career in arts promotion, marketing, public relations, cultural programming and other areas as evidenced by your experience or educational goals (having completed or worked on a degree in a related field: public relations, communications, arts administration, special events, marketing, etc.)
You are a creative, enthusiastic person with strong communication skills, excellent phone skills, writing and organizational skills and must have MAC computer experience. Can you pitch people over the phone? Are you an energetic go-getter? You must be able to do Internet research, be very familiar with social media, have good problem solving skills, have an excellent phone voice and manner and the ability to work independently. Strong attention to detail is required. A smile is required.
